Claude Richard "Dick" Monlux
Claude Richard "Dick" Monlux, 81, died peacefully at home on January 27, 2007.
After serving four years as a naval officer during World War II, he graduated from Yale University with degrees in metallurgy and naval engineering. He was an avid golfer, skier, and national swimming champion. He was president of Monlux Company in Seattle, WA, for 30 years before retiring to The Landings in 1992. His ability to fix and improve objects was both creative and astounding.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn Laub Monlux, three daughters, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends will remember him as a man of extraordinary integrity and goodness of heart.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 2, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
